Millersville, Pa. - In its first match against the Crimson Hawks since it defeated them 89-86 in triple overtime in last season's PSAC Semifinal round, the Millersville University women's basketball team was unable to pull off a second-straight upset as it lost 87-52 in Pucillo Gymnasium on Sunday afternoon.
The Marauders drop to 2-5 overall and 0-2 in conference play, while No. 3 Indiana (Pa.) improves to 7-0 overall and 2-0 in PSACÂ play.
The Crimson Hawks opened the game on a 12-2 run and led 25-13 at the end of the first quarter. Millersville went on a 9-5 run to begin the second period, going 4-for-7 from the floor during that stretch, to trim the deficit to eight. Indiana stopped the Marauders' momentum with a 15-5 run to end the quarter and go into halftime up, 45-27.
Millersville came out of the half strong, beginning the third period on a 5-0 run to pull within 13. Once again the Crimson Hawks stopped the Marauders in their tracks, finishing the quarter on an 18-7 run to enter the final quarter ahead, 63-39. Indiana outscored Millersville 24-13 in the fourth period, winning by the eventual score of 87-52.
For the third-consecutive game
Lauren Lister was the leading scorer for the Marauders, draining 17 points and going 6-for-8 from the charity strip.
Olivia Mottern and
Samantha Brusha provided offense off the bench with 10 and nine points, respectively.

NOTES
• This marks the Marauders' worst loss since they fell to No. 2 Virginia Union 87-43 on Nov. 12, 2017.Â
• The Crimson Hawks entered the game allowing just 47.3 points to their opponents, the lowest mark in the PSAC.
• Indiana now leads the all-time series 13-24 and Millersville is now 5-3 against the Crimson Hawks when they are nationally ranked.Â
