ABOUT THE MARAUDERS
• The Marauders enter the NCAA Tournament with a tough task as they take on the defending NCAA Division II champions and the No. 3 ranked team in the nation, Charleston (W.Va.), on Saturday. The Marauders earned the No. 4 seed in the Atlantic Region after winning the PSAC Championship last Sunday. The Golden Eagles have yet to be on the losing side of a match this season with a 17-0-2 overall record.
• The winner of Saturday's contest will play either No. 2 West Chester or No. 3 Notre Dame, who face off the in the other second round game.
• Senior Jaxson Burns returns to the field after being named PSAC Tournament MVP, scoring a goal in each match including the tying goal in the and clinching penalty kick in the PSAC Championship.
• Beside Burns on the Millersville attack, senior Chase Flickinger leads the team with 20 points (seven goals and six assists). Freshman Spencer Shortt has seven assists.
• Senior back Kyle Finsterbush was honored as All-PSAC Second Team, totaling six points including four assists. He is just the second player in program history to earn All-PSAC honors four times. Sophomore Nathan Maynard is among the defensive backs who have helped deny the opposing attacks in front of junior goalkeeper Darian McCauley in goal. McCauley has a 1.02 goals against average to go along with a .789 save percentage while earning four shutouts on the season.
• The Marauders have yet to been beaten since Oct. 3 when West Chester won 2-1 with a late goal with 19 seconds left.
• As the Marauders head into the NCAA Tournament, the team ranks 19th in the nation in corner kicks per game with an average of 6.21. Burns' clutch scoring with five game-winning goals puts him 11th in the country.
• Three Marauders (Finsterbush, Flickinger and Burns) have NCAA Tournament experience, playing in Millersville's last NCAA Tournament in 2015. Finsterbush started in the match, helping the defensive line to keep Urbana to six shots on goal.

HOW THE MARAUDERS GOT HERE
• The Marauders captured the PSAC title after triumphing over West Chester in penalty kicks. The last time the Marauders won the conference was in 2011.
• In the conference semifinals, the Marauders took down Seton Hill which advanced them to their ninth conference championship appearance.

• This will be the third time that the Marauders and the Golden Eagles have faced off, going back to 2012. The last postseason meeting came in the NCAA Tournament in 2009 when No. 14 Charleston defeated the Marauders 2-0.

THE LAST MEETING
• The Marauders and Golden Eagles last met on Sept. 2 of 2012. Charleston edged out a 2-1 victory over No. 4 Millersville.
• Charleston broke throughh in the 22nd minute when Brett Elliot headed a free kick into the lower left corner just past the diving reach of Christopher Schneider.
• With just under 15 minutes of play, Matt Kadoch struck the ball out of the air directly towards the goal. Charleston's keeper was unable to secure the ball. William Taylor followed up the rebound shot and tapped the ball into the back of the net tying the game at one.
• Less than two minutes later the Golden Eagles stole the momentum back on a long pass from Rob Vincent to Nathan Schmitt. Schmitt outran the Marauder defense to the ball and scored for the 2-1 advantage.

NCAA TOURNAMENT HISTORY
• This is the sixth NCAA Tournament in 10 years under the guidance of head coach Steve Widdowson.
• 2015 was the last time the Marauders were in the NCAA Tournament. Millersville went out in the first round against No. 21 Urbana in a 1-0 loss.
• The Marauders' last NCAA Tournament win came over Slippery Rock in 2013.
• The furthest that the Marauders has advance in program history was the NCAA Semifinals in 2011. The squad won matches against Mercyhurst and California (Pa.) which earned them the the Atlantic Regional Championship. Millersville advanced in the national quarterfinals with a penalty kick win over Rockhurst.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
• Charleston has not lost since Nov. 5, 2017--a loss that came in its conference championship. The Golden Eagles most recently won the Mountain East title by a 3-0 score over Wheeling Jesuit.
• In the past five seasons, the Golden Eagles have only lost eight matches. Since the last time the Marauders and Golden Eagles have faced off in 2012, Charleston has only lost six matches on home pitch.
• The Golden Eagles' defense has been one of the strongest in the whole country, ranking in the top three in five team categories. Charleston leads the nation in shutout percentage (0.889) and team goals against average (0.161). The squad ranks second in save percentage with 0.885 and third in won-lost-tie percentage (0.944).
• Charleston's goalkeeper Alvaro Dean ranks in the top 10 of the country in save percentage (0.857), shutouts (9) and goals against average (0.194). Dean has allowed only two goals past him this season and has stopped only 12 shots while having a 8-0-1 record.
• On the attack, six players have recorded four or more goals while seven have totaled 10 or more points this season. Gabriel Calral and Freedy Tracey lead the team in goals with seven apiece. 
• All but three members of Charleston's team are international.
