Millersville, Pennsylvania - The Millersville softball team dropped two games to PSAC-rival Kutztown Saturday losing 8-4 and 11-2. The Golden Bears crushed the ball, hitting three home runs and never trailing in either game.
Game One
Kutztown would get on the board in the top of the first inning and would tack on a run in the second to make the score 2-0 Golden Bears. The Marauders would show life in the bottom of the fourth after
Raeann Buskey and Brit Smith would reach base with singles.
Kaelyn Buskey would come to the plate and rip a line drive to center field that would tie the game up at 2-2.
The Golden Bears would get the runs back in the fifth however, scoring three and knocking
Cassidy Pinchorski out of the ball game. Kutztown scored two more in the sixth and tacked on an eighth run in the seventh to secure the game-one win.
Game Two
In the second game, Kutztown would strike first again scoring four runs in the first. The Golden Bears would add three more in the second to take a commanding 7-0 lead. Millersville would make some noise in the second inning when
Heather Lutz singled and Raeann Buskey smacked a triple to get the Marauders on the board. Buskey would score on the next play via a wild pitch to make the score 7-2.
Neither team would strike in the fourth but Kutztown scored a pair in the fifth to extend the lead to seven runs. In the 11th, the Golden Bears would hit a two-run homer to cap off the sweep, taking the game 11-2.
The Marauders will have to rebound quickly, hosting another PSAC opponent in West Chester Sunday at 1 p.m.
