Millersville, Pennsylvania - A rain delay stalled the Millersville momentum in game one and Shippensburg scored four runs after the break in game one to win 4-3. In game two the Raiders score a 5-0 win.
Heather Lutz collected a pair of hits and
Rebecca Blatt hit a home run in game one.
Millersville will finish the season next Saturday when they travel to Kutztown for a doubleheader against the Golden Bears.
GAME 1
In the bottom of the second inning Millersville got runners on first and second with no outs.
Cassidy Pinchorski worked a walk to load the bases, and a batter later
Heather Lutz registered a walk and an RBI to make the score 1-0.
After a brief rain delay, Shippensburg came out swinging in the top of the fourth as Kendall Geis ripped a ball to left center tha would score a run. With the bases loaded, the Raiders would get a sacrifice fly and Maddie Mulhall hit one in the gap that scored a pair of runs to make the score 4-1.
In the bottom half of the inning, Pinchorski reached second base and Lutz smacked a double that cut the deficit in half. The Marauders had runners on the corners in the bottom of the fifth but failed to get a run home. In the bottom of the sixth Blatt blasted a solo shot to pull Millersville to within one run. The Marauders were put down in order in the bottom of the seventh as the Raiders took game one, 4-3.
GAME 2
In the top of the third, Shippensburg started a rally aided by a Millersville error. After the Raiders scored two, Meghan Klee hit a double that scored two more runs to make the score 4-0. The Raiders tacked on a run in the top of the fourth to take a commanding 5-0 lead.
The Marauders committed four errors in the field and were held scoreless at the plate. In the seventh inning,
Kaelyn Buskey singled to left, advanced on a wild pitch and was moved over to third but could not score as the game ended 5-0.
