Softball shut out against Bloomsburg

Millersville, Pennsylvania - The Millersville softball team did not score a run falling in two close games to Bloomsburg Tuesday. The Huskies took game one 3-0 while edging out the Marauders 1-0 in game two. The doubleheader loss marks six games in a row that Millersville has dropped at home.

Game One

In the top of the third, Bloomsburg would jump out to a 1-0 lead but Pinchorski and the defense would get out of a bases-loaded jam and limit the Huskies to just one run. In the top of the fifth, Bloomsburg would load the bases again but the Marauders escaped another jam to keep the score 1-0.

In the top of the sixth, the Huskies would put runners on the corner as Taylor Parker would help herself out and single in a run. Bloomsburg would load the bases but this time convert with a bast hit to left field that made the score 3-0.

Kaelyn Buskey led off the seventh with a single to center field but the next three batters were retired as Bloomsburg took game one.

Game Two

In the bottom of the third inning, Morgan Almodovar, Heather Lutz and Brit Smith all singled to load the bases with two outs but Bloomsburg responded and got out of the inning unscathed. The teams in were scoreless until the top of fifth when Bloomsburg would get runners on the corners with one out and would single home the first run of the game. Bevard would get two consecutive pop ups and escape the inning with just one run.

In the bottom of the fifth, Morgan Almodovar beat out an infield single as the Marauders looked to get on the board but could not convert. In the sixth Maggie Murphy was hit by a pitch and Kaelyn Buskey singled to put runners on first and second with one out. Megan McCurdy would fly out to center field and the Huskies would double up the runner at second to once again get out of the jam.

In the top of the seventh, Bloomsburg loaded the bases but Heather Lutz robbed the Huskies with a diving catch in left field to keep the score 1-0.
