Salem, Virginia - After starting the season 2-0, the Millersville softball team has lost four games in a row, falling to Mansfield 9-1 Sunday. The Mounties scored in all but one inning and capped the game off with a four-run fifth to make the score 9-1.
The Marauders racked up eight hits, but stranded nine runners throughout the game scoring just one run in the third inning.
Cassidy Pinchorski got the start and pitched into the fifth before Mansfield took complete control of the game.
After jumping out to a 2-0 lead, Mansfield tactfully managed the bottom of the third registering two sacrifices and picking up their third run of the game. After adding two more, Millersville showed life in the fifth as Brit Smith singled to load the bases up with one out. After

Maggie Smith worked a walk as the Marauders finally got on the board. Mansfield got out of the jam by retiring the very next batter to maintain a four-run advantage.
The Mounties took control in the fifth, adding four more runs and handed Millersville their sixth loss of the season. Millersville hopes to rebound tomorrow, traveling to Florida to play doubleheaders the next three days.
