
Women’s Swimming wins both dual meets over Lock Haven and Cedar Crest

Millersville, Pa. – The Millersville women's swimming team swept Lock Haven and Cedar Crest in its two duals Saturday afternoon. Sophomore Madisson Cartmill qualified for the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships in the 200-yard backstroke.
The Marauders took victory in 10 of 14 events. Millersville won 163-86 over Lock Haven and took a 197-47 victory over Cedar Crest.
Millersville's A and 'C' team claimed first and second in the 400-yard medley relay. The "A" team included senior Emily Fusco, junior Mariana Bernal, sophomore Judith Miller and sophomore Mallory
Dyson. The "A" team combined for a time of 4:13.94.
Sophomore Jessica Berry recorded a win in the 1000-yard freestyle. Berry touched the wall at 11:37.31. Fusco had a 2:03.36 time in the 200-yard freestyle to claim a win in the third event of the meet. Fusco also won the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:14.11. Junior Amanda Wetzler earned her first win this year in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 29.53.
Freshman Leah Barrett collected a win in the 50-yard freestyle (25.50).
Dyson and Wetzler went first and second place in the 100-yard freestyle. Dyson recorded 57.52 and Wetzler finished 58.23.
Cartmill qualified into the PSAC Championship in her performance in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:14.60, two seconds under the PSAC time.
Freshman Shannon Coccaro and Miller claimed wins in the 500-yard freestyle (5:36.69) and the 50-yard butterfly (28.33). In the last event of the day, Millersville took victory in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:57.75.
Next up for the Marauders is the Franklin & Marshall Invitational Nov. 17 -19.
