Baider wins 133 class, Dull earns second in the 197 in the W&J Invitational

Washington, Pa. – Redshirt junior Alex Baider won the 133-pound class and junior Colton Dull took runner-up in the 197-pound class at the Washington & Jefferson Invitational Saturday.
Five Marauders placed in their respective weight classes. The field included 13 teams.
Baider got a bye to the second round and ripped off three straight. Baider pinned Waynesburg's Tony Mastrangelo at the 6:06 mark to advance to quarterfinals. In the semifinal, Baider had a major decision win over Wheeling Jesuit's Marcus Baptiste putting him into the finals. Baider claimed a 6-1 decision for the first-place finish.
In the 125-pound weight class, sophomore Aaron Wildonger pinned W&J's Daniel Florentino in the first round and then claimed a 10-7 decision victory to advance to the semifinals. Wildonger had to forfeit due to injury in the semifinal.
Senior D.J. Mele (149) defeated his opponent with a 7-0 decision win in the first round and then received a technical fall in the second round. Mele lost 3-1 in the semifinals of his weight class. Mele went to the consolation bracket and won in the consolation finals in a 15-2 major decision for third place.
Senior Seth Decker lost in the second round in the championship bracket against Wheeling Jesuit's Connor Craig by a technical fall. Decker gathered himself and won the next two bouts to finish sixth.
Dull picked up an 18-0 technical fall over Heidelberg's Chase Morrison, a major decision and a 16-0 tech fall to advance to the finals. In the championship round, he lost 9-5 to Ken Burrs of Waynesburg.
The Marauders return home for its home opener against Seton Hill on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 12 p.m.
