No. 16 Seton Hill battles back from Millersville’s early lead to win

Millersville, Pa. – The Millersville wrestling team and No. 16 ranked Seton Hill went down to the last bout for the match. Despite Shane Ruhnke and Aaron Wildonger knocking off nationally-ranked opponents, the Griffins won the last four matches to receive a 20-18 victory Saturday.
The Marauders move to 1-1 in the season while the Griffins grabbed its first dual win. The Griffins won the last four bouts of the match to claim the victory.
Ruhnke scored an upset, claiming an 8-6 decision victory over the No. 12 ranked Zach Voytek in the 165-pound class. In the first bout of the match, Wildonger pinned the No. 3-ranked 125-pound wrestler, Alan Diltz, with 17 seconds left in the first period. That win got the Marauders started with six points.
Redshirt junior Alex Baider stayed undefeated on the season when he beat Rodney Sunday in an overtime 6-4 win at 133 pounds.
Seniors D.J. Mele and Seth Decker earned close decision wins for the Marauders to go up 15-5. Decker was tied 1-1 with Zach Rechlein when he scored a takedown with 10 seconds left in the third period to claim the 3-1 victory.
After Ruhnke's win, the Marauders led 18-5, but Seton Hill won the next four matches. The Marauders led 18-17 in the entering the final bout. At the 285-pound weight class, Jody Crouse of Seton Hill and Zachary Yackenchick went back and forth in the last bout. Crouse took down Yackenchick with a minute left in the second period to tie it at 3-3. Yackenchick started the third period with a 4-3 lead but could not keep the momentum as Crouse scored a takedown and an eventual 6-4 win.
The Marauders return home on Monday, Nov. 20 to wrestle a non-conference dual against Thaddeus Stevens at 7 p.m.
