• This is Millersville's sixth match against an out of conference opponent this season. The Marauders are 4-0-1 against non-conference teams and a result against the Rams will help Millersville's bid for an NCAA tournament berth.
ABOUT THE SERIES
• Jefferson University, formerly Philadelphia University, lead the series against Millersville 9-12-2. After a hiatus lasting for 16 years, the schools reignited their rivalry in 2008, and the Marauders have won four of the last seven matches.
THE LAST MEETING: Philadelphia 4, Millersville 1 (Sep. 9, 2014)
• Millersville's
Devin Rediker struck first in the 30th minute, bending the ball into the goal from the far right side. Philadelphia responded with two goals in the final five minutes of the first half. The Rams took over the game and out shot the Marauders 10-5 and netted two goals in the final 15 minutes of the game to win 4-1.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
• Jefferson was picked to finish fifth in the Central Athletic Collegiate Conference but currently rank first in the CACC. The Rams are in the same conference as Bloomfield College and Wilmington University but have not played them yet this season. Millersville tied Wilmington 1-1 in the first game of the season while beating Bloomfield College 2-1. Jefferson was ranked eighth in the Atlantic Region of the US Soccer Coaches Poll last week.
• Jefferson are a formidable offensive opponent and are averaging two goals a game and 18.3 shots per game. Defensively, the Rams have held opponents to an average 0.80 goals scored per game, and have never allowed more than two goals scored in a single game during the 2017 season.
• Midfielder Jason Rocha and forward Myles-Jordan Senior-Campbell lead the Rams for a combined 20 points this season. The Millersville midfield will need to limit Rocha's windows on offense to allow the Millersville back line to focus on Senior-Campbell and shut down opportunities.
