Millersville, Pa. - 18 kills from
Erin Harman on Senior Day was not enough for Millersville as visiting Clarion received 23 kills from Taylor Braunagel and out-matched the Marauders 3-1 (25-23, 25-18, 18-25, 25-18).
Millersville's (15-7, 6-7 PSAC) last five PSAC defeats have all been by at least four sets. The Marauders scored a 28-15 third set victory behind six kills from Harman.
Katie Laughman assisted on 14 of the Marauders' 15 kills while the team hit .342 in the set.
But that was the match's high point for Millersville. The first set stood at a 23-23 tie following a kill from Harman, but Braunagel was Clarion's answer all day, and her kill put Clarion at set point. A Marauder error put Clarion in front 1-0.
Millersville totaled eight kills to seven errors in set two, and Clarion posted 16 to Millersville's nine kills in the fourth.
Along with Harman, fellow senior
Kelsi Ceriani delivered 11 kills to just 11 error, posting a .400 hitting percentage. Laughman totaled 39 assists.
Saturday's loss dropped the Marauders a game out of the No. 8 and final PSAC playoff spot. It was the final home match the Marauders, who now hit the road for five consecutive road matches.
Millersville celebrated its five seniors Saturday as well. Playing their final home games were: Harman, Ceriani,
Renee Drawbaugh,
Lexy Coldsmith and
Alexis Hamm.
