Clarion, Pa. - Sophomore
Kay Liebl recorded the lone goal of the game to push the Millersville women's soccer team past Clarion with a 1-0 victory.
The Marauders received their fifth win of the season to put them at a record of 5-8-2, 4-8-2 PSAC. Clarion took its sixth loss to put them out on playoff contention with a record of 6-6-4, 5-5-4 PSAC.
Four minutes into the game, Liebl played the ball into the box and found an opening between the goalie and herself, shot it to the top left corner of the goal and beat the keeper. Liebl's goal was her eighth of the season.
In the 50
th minute, Clarion had an near miss on Stephanie Lias' corner kick that went off of Aaliyah Odom's head that fell right into Kate Phillip's arms.

Talia Grynkewicz took two shots with one hitting the post, nearly adding a second goal to the Marauders lead.
McKenzie Sheesley had the closest goal attempt in the game for Clarion when she played the ball to the top of the box and fired a shot that bounced off the crossbar and came directly back into play in the 72
nd minute.
With two second left on the clock, Liebl got tripped up by Marina Kelly and received a penalty kick in which Clarion's Brigid Stermel saved the shot.
The Marauders return back home for two home games before the end of the regular season. Millersville plays Lock Haven on Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m., and Gannon on Saturday, Oct. 28 on Senior Day.
