Millersville, Pa. - Third-ranked Millersville rolled past Belmont Abbey 5-0 Saturday for its 10th consecutive victory and 10th shutout of the season.
Millersville (13-3) out-shot the visiting Crusaders (7-9) 31-0 and held a 17-0 edge in penalty corners. For the Marauders, it was the second-most shots this season and the second time holding a team without a shot.
Freshman
Emma Boutcher scored the first and final goals.
Erica Tarsi scored once and added her seventh and eighth assists of the season.
Kathleen Bishop scored the Marauders' second goal, tying her with Tarsi for the team-lead in goals with nine.
Maci Langone also scored her fourth of the season.
Boutcher started the scoring 8:45 into the game, scoring unassisted. Bishop scored off a
Courtney Weaver pass at the 15:32 mark, and Tarsi scored on a
Brooke Troutman assist in the 21st minute. Millersville's 3-0 lead remained until the 67th minute when Langone scored, and just 1:15 later, Boutcher scored again.
Belmont Abbey's Paige Hinds made 13 saves.
Kylee Bair improved to 12-1 in goal for the Marauders while not facing a shot.
Millersville has outscored opponents 26-2 in its recent winning streak.
The Marauders return to conference play on Wednesday at home against No. 1 Shippensburg. The winner of that game will sit in the driver's seat for the No. 1 seed an home field advantage in the PSAC Tournament.
