Millersville, Pa. – Millersville's winning streak continued on Saturday with a 2-0 win on the road over Mansfield. The Marauders (11-3, 6-1 PSAC) have now won eight-straight games including six consecutive within PSAC play.
No. 5 Millersville, coming off a win over No. 2 ESU, took down the Mountaineers (6-8, 1-5) to extend their dominance for yet another game. Millersville has now held opponents scoreless in all of their last eight games--one shutout shy of the Millersville record. Goalkeeper
Kylee Bair has started each of those victories, and she and the team has held opponents without a goal for 620 straight minutes. Bair made two saves in the win.
The Marauders put far more pressure on Mansfield offensively. Millersville received goals from
Erica Tarsi and
Emma Boutcher in the win.
Tarsi, who has been a scoring machine this year, tallied her eighth goal of the season. She is now tied with
Kathleen Bishop for the title of most goals by a Marauder this season.
Both Tarsi and Boutcher's goals came in the second half, with Tarsi's in the 38
th minute and Boutcher in the 57
th minute.
Boutcher's goal was her third of the season. It was also her second in the last three games.
Millersville has outscored opponents 36-11 on the season with the win. Even better: it has outscored opponents 20-0 in the last eight games.
The Marauders put up 13 shots on goal while only allowing two such attempts by the Mountaineers. Millersville also put up 26 shots, whereas Mansfield was only able to take 12.
Millersville looks to keep its streak alive Tuesday against Bloomsburg.
