
Millersville narrowly beats Kutztown on senior day, 132-130

Millersville, Pennsylvania --The Millersville women's swim team celebrated seniors Bridget Dooling, Lizzie Ebert, Meghan Hickey and Rachel Malampy with a 132-130 victory against Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference rival Kutztown University Saturday.
The Marauders started fast with a top finish in the 400-yard medley relay. The team of Emily Fusco, Gabriella Licata, Madisson Cartmill and Malampy edged out Kutztown's second place relay team by less than a second.
Freshman Jessica Berry set a new personal time of 11:27.64 in the 1000-yard freestyle with her first place finish. Berry finished 12 seconds ahead of both her personal best time, and Kutztown's second-place finisher.
In her final home swim meet of her career, Malampy took the top spot in the 100-yard and 200-yard freestyle.
Millersville dominated the 100-yard backstroke by nabbing up the top-3 finishes. Fusco finished first with a time of 1:00.36. A second later, Arianna Crossgrove finished second with a time of 1:01.72. Milliseconds later, Mallory Dyson finished third with a time of 1:02.14.
In the 200-yard backstroke Fusco finished first with a time of Pucillo Natatorium record of 2:10.67. Cartmill finished second with a time of 2:12.42.
The Marauders capped off the meet with a first place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay. Malampy, Crossgrove, Ebert and Dyson finished with a time of 3:47.12. The relay team finished two seconds ahead of the second place relay team from Kutztown.
Millersville's next event is Feb. 4 at the East Stroudsburg Invitational in East Stroudsburg, Pa.
