Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania - The homestanding Bloomsburg Huskies broke a scoreless tie two minutes into the second half and held on to top the Millersville Marauders Saturday afternoon in PSAC action.
Maureen Leis scored in the 48th minute to put the Huskies on the board. Less than 10 minutes later, Bloomsburg added to its lead with a header from Allie Barber. Millersville, which finished with five shots and three on goal, threatened in the 71st minute when
Kay Liebl forced Devon Haviland to make a save fo rthe Huskies.
The Marauders got on the board with just under five minutes to play when
Stacie Hallinan found
Samantha Ricciardi on the left side of the goal.
Bloomsburg out-shot the Marauders 12-5 and held a 6-4 edge in corners. Marauder keeper
Samantha Wolfe made six saves.
Millersville fell to 1-1 both overall and in the PSAC while Bloomsburg evened its record to 1-1. The Marauders return home to host Slippery Rock on Sept. 9 at 1 p.m.
