Millersville, Pennsylvania - Senior Kaylie Cutlip scored her first goal of the year and classmate Alexandrea Powell scored five minutes into the first overtime to lift the Marauders to victory over Pitt-Johnstown Wednesday. The win snaps a five-game losing streak and improves the Millersville record to 2-5 (2-5 PSAC) on the season. Samantha Wolfe racked up five saves and the Marauders outshot the Lady Cats 21-9 with nine shots on goal.

The Marauders looked to score early, having a pair of shots blocked by the Lady Cats defense before getting one on frame where Leigh Appolonia scooped it up. Rachel Lyon forced Appolonia to make another save and earned the Marauders a corner kick but Millersville could not convert. In the the 20th minute, Parker streaked up the left side with the ball where she was tackled in the box setting up a penalty kick from Savannah Hall. Hall fired the ball to the left of the keeper, but Appolonia robbed her and Lyon on the rebound attempt to keep the game scoreless.

Millersville and Pitt-Johnstown would trade opportunities as Cutlip sent a header just over the crossbar off a corner kick and Sam Bahorich placed one on net where Samantha Wolfe grabbed the ball for her first save. Millersville continued to press, earning a corner kick that was cleared off the goal line from a Lady Cat defender. With just two minutes left in the half, Stacie Hallinan had the ball played to her at the 18 and ripped a shot on net where Appolonia was waiting and the two sides went into the break tied 0-0.

Miillersville came out firing in the second half as Halie Parker shot one that was blocked but knocked out of bounds for a corner kick. Hall swung the ball in where Cutlip rose up and headed the ball into the net to give Millersville a 1-0 lead in the 54th minute. Alexandrea Powell nearly doubled the Marauder lead in the 63rd when she ripped a shot right over the crossbar from just outside the box. 

Kaitlyn Eckley tried to equalize in the 69th when she fired a shot just over the Marauders net. Millersville earned a corner in the 72nd and nearly converted as the ball was flicked far post where Danille Lippl cleared it off the line. 

In the 81st minute, Paige Torchio played a ball to freshman Brook Vollmer who got behind the defense and placed the ball in the upper 90 to even the score at one goal apiece. Pitt-Johnstown would threaten late but Samantha Wolfe came up with a diving save. With less than 10 seconds remaining in regulation, Parker got the ball on the left side of the box and pushed it just wide as time expired as the two sides went into overtime. 

The Lady Cats got the first chance in overtime as Eckley spun and shot one wide of the net. Millersville would immediately counter as Powell played the ball to Kay Liebl who dribbled to the top of the box and placed one on frame that was saved by Appolonia. 

Minutes later, Parker crossed the ball into the box and Appolonia made a diving punch to knock the ball to the top of the box where Powell fired it in the back of the net for the Millersville victory. 

The Marauders will return to the pitch Saturday when they host PSAC-rival Gannon at 3:30 p.m.
