Clarion, Pennsylvania - The Millerville women's soccer team fell to their Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference rival Clarion University 1-0 Saturday. Clarion scored in the 14th minute and held on against a Millersville offensive rally in the second half.
Clarion's Marina Kelly scored off Aaliyah Odom's assist before the Marauders locked down on defense. Clarion attempted nine more shots after the first goal, but Millersville shut them down.
Millersville attempted three shots in the first half, but shot nine times in the second half.
The Marauders rallied in the 66th minute, taking four shots and forcing four corner kicks by the 71st minute. Millersville rallied again in the 77th minute, shooting three times and forcing another corner kick by the 80th minute.
Sydnie Parker and
Samantha Ricciardi had chances to tie the game late, but neither could convert.
The two sides both refistered 12 shots, but only five reached Clarion's Krista Mosi.
Millersville falls to 1-5 both overall and in conference play but return home Wednesday to play Slippery Rock at 7:30 p.m.
