East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania - The Millersville women's soccer team fell to the defending PSAC champions 3-0 Tuesday. East Stroudsburg scored in the seventh minute and tacked on two more in the 55th en route to victory.
It did not take long for the Warriors to get on top as Shea Neal found teammate Brielyn Hackett who pushed a shot in the lower right corner of the net to put East Stroudsburg on top at the 6:11 mark. Millersville only mustered four shots in the first half, forcing just one save by Jues Harris.
East Stroudsburg looked to add to their one-goal lead early in the second when Hackett found Sammi Ortiz at the top of the 18 and Ortiz fired the ball upper 90 for a two goal lead. Less than a minute later, Ortiz took a failed clearance attempt and scored her second goal of the game to give the Warriors a 3-0 advantage they would hold for the rest of the game.
East Stroudsburg outshot Millersville 16 to 6, with
Samantha Wolfe registering five saves while Millersville only managed three shots on goal against the tough Warrior defense
The Marauders fall to 1-4 on the season and remain on the road, looking to get back in the win column when they travel to Clarion Saturday to face the Eagles at 1 p.m.
