Millersville, Pennsylvania -Â Senior
Alexandrea Powell scored early in the second half to put Millersville on top, but Edinboro rallied and scored two goals to earn a 2-1 victory.
The Fighting Scots tested the Marauder defense and
Samantha Wolfe early as Wolfe registered five of her seven saves in the first half. Millersville had its best chance in the 29th minute when
Alexandrea Powell snuck behind the defense and pinged one off the right post. The ball popped out to the top of the box where
Sydnie Parker tried to fire it back on frame but pushed it just wide.
Powell wasted little time in the second half when
Stacie Hallinan found her on the edge of the box and Powell drilled it home giving the Marauders a 1-0 lead. Edinboro threatened quickly, but the score remained knotted at 1-1 until the 65th minute when Abby Gillespie ripped a shot that deflected into the Millersville net. Just minutes later, Danielle Chatten put the Fighting Scots ahead with a shot near the top of the box. Millersville threatened to equalize but had multiple opportunities called back for offsides.
