Mack Sets Record in Senior Day Win

Millersville, Pa. - Abby Mack turned in her best performance of the season on Senior Day, handing out a school record nine assists as Millersville dominated Kutztown, 16-3. Renee Landis and Sabrina Fusco each scored four goals while senior Bridget Hufnagel and sophomores Kristen Butzner and Callie Kavanaugh all had a pair. In addition to her nine assists, seven of which were recorded in the first half, Mack added a goal in the second. Bryana Weston-Wyatt turned in one of her best performances, registering 13 saves in the win.

It took less than a minute for Mack to set up a Marauder for a goal as she found Sabrina Fusco who made the score 1-0 Millersville. Mack would connect with Landis four times in the first half as the Marauders jumped out to a 9-0 lead over the Golden Bears. Kutztown broke the scoreless drought as Lauren Huggins notched her 30th goal of the year with 4:30 left in the first half. Mack would again connect with Fusco to give Millersville a 10-1 lead at the break.

Senior Bridget Hufnagel got things going in the second as she scored five minutes into the half. Hufnagel and Fusco would each add another goal before Kutztown scored a pair to make 13-3 in favor of the Marauders. With 9:10 to play, Mack would score her seventh goal of the season from a free position shot attempt. Mack would record her ninth assist of the game when she found Kristen Butzner in front of the net to give Millersville a 15-3 lead. Butzner would add another goal in the waning seconds of the game to cap off a 16-3 win for the Marauders.

Millersville improves to 7-5 (4-4 PSAC) while Kutztown falls to 6-7 (2-6 PSAC). The Marauders travel to Edinboro Saturday to take on the Fighting Scots at 1 p.m.
