Game Notes• After edging out Shipensburg 9-8 Tuesday on the road, Millersville returns home to host the Mercyhurst Lakers. The Marauders improved their record to 6-4 overall while going 3-3 in conference thus far.
• Bridget Hufnagel has taken charge of the attack in her senior year, notching a team-high 32 goals including five in the win against Shippensburg. Hufnagel also leads the Marauders with 13 assists while
Renee Landis has 12 assists to go with 16 goals on the season.
• Sabrina Fusco ranks second on the team with 30 goals while freshman
Tessa Kircher has played big minutes in her first year, leading the team wtih 20 ground balls while causing eight turnovers, which is good for third on the team.
• Defensively,
Natalie Sukanick has a team-high 11 caused turnovers and has 16 ground balls.
Bryana Weston-Wyatt has racked up 77 saves as a freshman including 14 against Shippensburg.
Scouting the Opponent• The Lakers of Mercyhurst currently rank seventh in all of Divsion II and sit atop the PSAC standings with a 5-0 conference record going 8-1 overall. Mercyhurst is most recently coming off a 12-9 win at Edinboro Tuesday.
• The Lakers have a balanced scoring attack, boasting four girls with 20 or more goals on the season already. Kristin Anderson leads the way with 22 but is followed closely by Grace Lawson who has 21 while Carly Zimmerman and Janelle Williams each have 20. Emily Gebhart, who leads the team with 13 assists, has also racked up 16 goals for Mercyhurst.
• In net, Gabby Gravino has gotten most of the action, appearing in seven games and starting six for the Lakers. Gravino has totaled 46 saves while going 6-1 on the season.
• The two sides do not play every year, but Millersville last topped Mercyhurst in 2001 when they won 8-6. Last season, the Lakers, who were ranked seventh in the country, downed the Marauders 18-11.
