• After coming off a tough loss to nationally ranked West Chester, Millersville enters Saturday's contest 4-2 (1-1 PSAC) on the season.
• Sabrina Fusco leads the Marauders with an impressive 21 goals on the season with a shot percentage of .568. Fusco is also second on the team in assists with eight. Leading Millersville in that category is senior
Bridget Hufnagel who has recorded 9 assists and ranks second on the team with 17 goals.
• Thrust into a starting role as a true freshman,
Bryana Weston-Wyatt has amassed 45 saves playing every minute so far this season. Fellow freshman
Tessa Kircher has impressed as well, leading the Marauders with 15 ground balls and is tied for second on the team with 10 caused turnovers.
• As a team, Millersville has outscored its opponents 75 to 59 and averages four more shots per game than the other team.
Scouting the Opponent• Indiana (Pa.) enters Saturday's game 3-3 on the season, most recently winning in their first PSAC game 18-5 over Gannon.
• Leading the attack as a freshman, Ally Burrows has a team-high 16 goals with a shot percentage of .640. Second on the team in that category is fellow freshman Adriana Greco who has netted 14 goals thus far. Setting up the attackers has been senior Amy Weinberg who has an impressive 26 assists already in 2016.
• Millersville has not defeated IUP since the 2009 squad topped the Crimson Hawks 17-6. Last season, the Marauders fell in a close one on the road by a score of 14-12.
Taylor Davis netted three goals in the loss while Hufnagel had a pair and Fusco scored one.
Raising Awareness•The matchup versus IUP is also the women's lacrosse "Breast Cancer Awareness" game, The program is aiming to raise awareness for the diseasenby selling t-shirts that can be purchased for $10 with all proceeds going to the Lancaster General Hospital Cancer Center to help support a local women who are battling cancer. Come out and support the Marauders as they aim to defeat the Crimson Hawks and breast cancer!
