
Magerr Highlights Marauder Finishes at Day Three of PSAC Championships

York, Pa. – The Millersville women's swimming team earned by far its most total team points at the 2016 PSAC Championships on the third day of competition. The Marauders earned 54 points due largely in part of two top-five finishes.
Senior Grace Magerr shattered her program record in the 500-yard freestyle. In the first event of Saturday evening, Magerr finished the event fourth touching the final wall in 5:02.70 which was nearly a second seconds faster than her record time a season ago. The mark also represented a NCAA provisional cut time as the senior hopes to qualify for the NCAA Championships on March 8.
In the 100-yard backstroke finals, Emily Fusco was able to podium in the event finishing fourth. Fusco not only re-broke her program record with a time of 58.31, but her finish in the event was the best in Marauder history.
Magerr finished the night teaming up with Fusco, Rachel Malampy and Lizzie Ebert in the 800-yard freestyle relay. The foursome finished the race in a blistering 7:55.49, which was good for a seventh-place finish. The mark entrenched the Marauder athletes in the school record books as it was the second fastest time in school history.
In the team score, Millersville moved up to eighth place with 135 points, which puts the Marauders in position to crack the top-10 for the first time in seven years on the final day of completion tomorrow.
