Men’s Basketball Hangs Tough with No. 21 West Chester

Millersville, Pa. – The Millersville men's basketball team wasn't able to find enough offence on Saturday afternoon as the visiting West Chester Golden Rams were victorious by an 81-63 decision. The Marauders have lost four-straight after beating Cheyney on Feb. 3 and drop to 3-21 overall and 3-17 in conference action.

Millersville hung tough with the Golden Rams in the first half and held leads at three different occasions within the half. Malik Jackson opened the scoring with a 3-pointer as the visitors built a 9-1 lead into the first media timeout. The Marauders came out of the break much more efficient, first with a trey via Ryan Beck on a Cornell Yarde II assist and then a Jon Lott steal turned into an easy basket the other way for Lott. The Marauders evened the score at 14 apiece after a Ricky Mosley free throw with 11:41 left in the first half. Millersville would build its largest lead of the game (5) with a Tom Townsend 3-pointer and a Markeith Mont layup. The lead was quickly erased as both teams went back and forth with the Golden Rams carrying a 34-29 lead into the intermission.
