Conrad Chambers scored a career-high 24 points, knocking down 5-of-10 threes and 9-of-10 free throws. He scored 21 of those points in a second half and made four of Millersville's seven threes in a 12-minute span between 17:19 and 5:38. Millersville shot 15-of-34 from three as a team--its most 3-pointers since Jan. 29, 2014.
Marcus Adkison made four and finished with 16.
Edinboro entered the game averaging 88.5 points per game and shooting .448 from three. But the Marauders forced 19 turnovers and limited the Fighting Scots to 6-of-21 shooting from three. Millersville turned those turnovers into 25 points. Jaymon Mason, who finished with 16 points, was held without a three and 11 points below his season scoring average. Edinboro fell to 0-10 all-time in Pucillo Gymnasium.
After taking a 9-8 lead with 14:31 left in the first half, Millersville never again trailed, but Edinboro tied the game at 51-51 with 9:20 left. But that's when Chambers and his 3-point shot took over the game. In less than four minutes, Chambers drilled three triples and
Cornell Yarde II added one, giving Millersville a 54-65 lead on a 14-3 run.Â
Edinboro crept within three at 72-69 with 1:43 left after Malach Onwudiegwu hit a three. But Millersville connected on seven consecutive free throws in the closing minute, including four from Chambers. Edinboro, meanwhile, went 3-for-7 at the line and 3-for-9 from the field in the final four minutes.
Yarde recorded his first career double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
