Erin Harman totaled a season-high 20 kills and 16 digs in powering the Millersville women's volleyball team to a 3-0 sweep of Slippery Rock Saturday at Pucillo Gymnasium (25-23, 25-16, 25-20).
The Marauders (3-10, 1-3 PSAC) snapped a nine-match skid with the win. Harman came within one of a career-high in kills. She committed just four errors on 49 swings, helping the team to a .208 hitting percentage--its highest in 10 matches.
Kelsi Ceriani totaled 10 kills.
Grace Dawson recorded 37 assists, her seventh match with 30 or more this season.
Millersville trailed throughout the opening set and was down 22-21 following a kill from Slippery Rock's Leah Jones. But Ceriani answered with back-to-back kills, and following an error from Slippery Rock,
Haley Butler sent home the set-winner.
In set two, Millersville broke a 9-9 tie with three consecutive points, and ripped off an 11-3 run in which Ceriani and Harman combined for six kills. Millersville totaled 13 kills to just one error and hit .429 in the set.
The Marauders totaled 17 kills in the third set, nine of which came from Harman. Harman committed just one error on 23 attempts.
Millersville is back at home on Oct. 4, hosting Goldey-Beacom.
