
Wuestner Fares Well in "Shorty" Hitchcock Classic

Millersville, Pa. - Millersville hosted the 13th annual "Shorty" Hitchcock Memorial Classic Saturday in which eight Marauders competed. Sophomore David Wuestner was the top finisher, taking fourth at 285 pounds.
Among the eight Millersville competitors were Austin Camacci (125), Alex Baider (133), Thomas Nulty (141), Jason Gaccione (149), Seth Decker (165), Nick Mancini (174), Tymere Eaton and Wuestner.
Wuestner was the highlight for Millersville with a fourth-place finish. It was Wuestner's second top-four finish of the season. He first squared off against Penn State Schuylkill's Aldo Guisse and pinned him at the six minute mark. Next, Wuestner defeated Elijah Flasher by a 2-1 decision before falling to Christian Colucci by a 8-1 decision.
Wuestner then dropped down to the consolation bracket where he defeated Sean Dee by an 8-4 decision. Next, Wuestner faced Peter Strassfield of Army with a pinfall at 4:57. Wuestner then defeated Thomas Ott of Navy by a 3-1 decision to advance to the third-place match where he squared off against Ryan Cloud. Cloud outwrestled Wuestner en route to a 13-4 major decision.
Millersville (2-5, 0-4 PSAC) returns to action as a team Jan. 30 when it hosts Alderson Broaddus, Ohio Valley, and American International at Pucillo Gymnasium.
