Bloomsburg, Pa . – The Millersville baseball team completed an emphatic and decisive four-game sweep of Bloomsburg Monday afternoon by scores of 11-4 and 15-4.
Chas McCormick's three homer doubleheader highlighted a series in which the Marauders outscored the Huskies 53-14.

The 53 runs were the most in a PSAC East series since the 2001 Marauders scored 55 against Bloomsburg. The wins also extended Millersville's winning streak to 12 in a row--the longest since the 2000 club won 14 in a row. It is the second-longest streak in school history. The 1982 team also won 14 in a row.

McCormick totaled seven RBIs in the twinbill, hitting two home runs in the opener and another in an eight-run sixth inning in game two. He totaled five hits, walked twice and totaled 15 bases.
Dan Neff went 6-for-10 with two doubles on the day.
Tyler Orris also reached base six times with two singles, two doubles and two walks, and he led the team with six runs scored.

McCormick reached base for the 30th consecutive game, and he and
Dan Stoltzfus extended their hitting streaks to 17 in a row, which is six games short of Mike Van Gavree's Millersville record of 23.

With offense cranking out runs, Monday's starting pitchers
Brandon Miller and
Jim McDade did what they needed to do. Miller improved to 7-1, winning his seventh consecutive decision. He gave up four runs on 11 hits and struck out five without allowing a walk. McDade improved to 4-2 with his game two performance. He allowed three earned runs on six hits over five innings. Miller and McDade have combined not allowed a walk in the last two doubleheaders. Miller has tossed 17 consecutive innings without a walk while McDade's streak extended to 24.2.

Millersville fell behind the homestanding Huskies 2-1 in the opening two innings of the opener. Bloomsburg committed three errors in the next two frames, though, allowing Millersville to score four unearned runs. Three of the runs came on McCormick's blast in the fourth. Already leading 6-3 in the top of the sixth, the Marauders totaled three hits and three walks and pushed across three more runs.
Mitch Stoltzfus,
David Summerfield and
Dan Stoltzfus all drove in runs in the inning. Dan added two more RBIs in the seventh with a single that scored Orris and Neff.
Reid Anderson finished the win with a 1-2-3 seventh.

The Marauders piled up 16 hits in game two. After leaving runners on base in the first two innings, the Marauders seven batters to the plate and scored four runs in the third. The eruption came in the sixth as 12 Marauders went to the plate, six recorded hits, four others reached base, and eight scored. McCormick hit his third homer of the day in the inning, and Neff, who finished the game with four hits and three runs, recorded a single and a two-run double in the sixth inning alone.

Dan Stoltzfus, who was named PSAC East Player Week on Monday, finished the Bloomsburg series with eight hits and 12 RBIs. Summerfield went 10-for-16 and improved his season average to .448.
Millersville hosts Shippensburg on Friday at Cooper Park. The doubleheader starts at 1 p.m.
