Lock Haven, Pa. – The Millersville men's basketball team was unable to overcome a 11-point first half deficit and the Lock Haven Bald Eagles picked up a 86-70 win over the Marauders on Saturday at Thomas Field House.
Millersville (2-9, 2-6 PSAC) lost its eighth-straight contest and its sixth consecutive PSAC game. The Marauders were held to just 28.6 percent shooting from the field in the first half as Lock Haven (9-3, 5-3 PSAC) led 40-29 at the halftime break.
The Bald Eagles were on fire from 3-point range in the second half converting six and hitting 11 treys overall. Julian Bond and Ra'eese Hunt led the way for Lock Haven as Hunt scored a career-high 19 points and Bond connected on six three-pointers for 18 points.
Lock Haven received strong play from its bench, which combined to score 50 points in the game.
The Marauders played efficient basketball from the field in the second half sinking 14-of-31 (.451) of their shots.
Millersville was led by
Markeith Mont who finished with a career-high 23 points on 8-of-12 shooting. Mont also sank a career-high seven points from the free throw line.
Ricky Mosley recorded his second straight double-double finishing with 11 rebounds and 11 points. Senior guard
Shawn Williams was the other Marauder who finished in double figures chipping in 18 points while collecting nine rebounds.
The Marauders break for the holiday and return to action on New Year's Eve with a non-conference matchup at Bowie State. Tip is slated for 1 p.m.
