Women’s Soccer Routs Bald Eagles

Millersville, Pa. – The Millersville women's soccer team scored three first half goals and another two in the second period as it shutout the visiting Lock Haven Bald Eagles 5-0 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action. The victory improves the Marauders overall record and PSAC mark to 4-6. Lock Haven dropped to 2-9 overall and 2-8 in conference action.
The Marauders opened the scoring in the 34th minute when Meagan Newmister delivered a beautiful through ball to teammate Victoria Kramer who slotted the shot attempt into the back of the net. Just over a minute later, Kramer fired another shot that bounced off of the post and the rebound was collected by Megan Kelley who who ripped her shot attempt past LHU keeper Erin McGrenaghan.
In the 42nd minute, Savannah Hall gained outstanding position within the 18-yard box and fired a shot that fooled Mcgrenaghan and put the Ville up by a 3-0 margin. Meagan Kelley was credited with the assist on the Hall goal.
Millersville opened the second half looking to add to its lead and the constant peppering of the net led to another goal in the 48th minute. Victoria Kramer used her pace up the right flank to gain positioning as she whipped a cross that was finished off by forward Halie Parker. The goal represented a team-leading seventh of the season for Parker.
The Marauders capped off their scoring at the 58:31 mark when Savanah Hall fired a shot from 40-yards out that dipped just beneath the crossbar. Hall finished the match with a game-high two goals and Victoria Kramer finished with a game-high three assists.
The Ville led in every major statistical category holding a 19-10 edge in shots, 3-2 advantage in saves and earned two more corner kicks than the Bald Eagles. Goalkeeper Samantha Wolfe earned her third clean sheet of the season.
Haley Predix was the lone bright spot for the Bald Eagles as the freshman recorded a team-high three shots.
Millersville returns to action Saturday, Oct. 10 when it hosts PSAC foe California (Pa.) on Alumni Day. Kickoff is slated for 3 p.m.
