Millersville, Pa. - Millersville men's basketball stopped a pair of streaks in Saturday's 87-81 win over Mercyhurst in Pucillo Gymnasium. The Marauders entered the game with three consecutive losses but used 57 percent shooting from the field and 30-for-33 shooting from the free throw line to snap Mercyhurst's seven-game winning streak.
Five Millersville (5-7, 2-5 PSAC) players scored in double figures, and the team was led by
Kelvin Parker's 17 points, seven rebounds and three rebounds. Younger brother
Tavon Parker, making his first appearance of the season, scored 10 points and played significant crunch time minutes, making a key basket in the final minute. The Marauders shot a season-best percentage from the field, from three (.643) and from the line (90.9). Millersville sank all 17 free throws in the first half, connected on its first 18 and closed the game by making nine in a row.

Shawn Williams and Tavon and a pair of free throws from Kelvin to push the advantage to 76-65 with 5:23 left. Three times in the final three minutes, the Lakers scored to cut Millersville's lead to just three. But each time, Millersville had an answer.

Following Tavon's bucket, the Lakers received a 3-pointer from Callon Dailey with 30 ticks to go, which cut the Marauders' lead to 83-81. Forced to foul, the Lakers sent Williams to the line, and he swished both to make the lead two possessions. Patterson, who totaled seven points and five rebounds, canned his final two to cap Millersville's victory.
Callender finished with 14 points and five rebounds and
Tyree Smith added 10 points, six assists and five rebounds. Freshman
