
Women's Swimming Finishes Seventh at F&M Invitational

Lancaster, Pa. – After three days of competition against Division I, II, and III opponents, the Millersville women's swimming team concluded the F&M Invitational with 258 points and a seventh-place finish.
In Sunday's preliminaries, Jaime Cessana qualified for the PSAC Championship in the 200-yard butterfly. Cessana swam a time of 2:19.93 with the PSAC Championships scheduled for later this season.
Grace Magerr completed a career meet with a top-five finish in the 500-yard freestyle. Magerr touched the wall fourth with a recorded time of 5:12.47, and the mark ranked as the Marauder program's fastest time this season. The winner, Danielle Caruso of Stevens College finished at meet record time of 4:58.17.
In the 100-yard breaststroke Janelle Laudermilch turned in a top-3 finish with a time of 1:08.61. Laudermilch ended up finishing in third, and it was her top finish of the three-day meet.
Emily Fusco, who is has been the top backstroke swimmer for the Marauders this season, captured a first-place finish in the second heat of the 200-yard backstroke. Fusco finished with a career best time of 2:10.09 and it is also now a Millersville program record.
Millersville now has an almost two month break before returning to competiton. Next, the Marauders travel to East Stroudsburg on Jan. 17. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
