Women's Soccer Works Double Overtime Draw

Millersville, Pa. - The Millersville women's soccer team traveled to Bloomsburg Wednesday where it battled the Huskies to a 1-1 double overtime tie on a cold, rainy evening.

Both squads opened the first half trading possession with neither side able to gain a breakthrough effort, and the teams went into the halftime break with the score, 0-0.

It remained that way until 50th minute when Millersville got onto the board. Sophomore Victoria Kramer crossed the ball in front of the net that deflected off of the Bloomsburg goalie. Halie Parker was in perfect positioning as she tapped it in for her fifth tally of the year.

The Marauders held the 1-0 advantage until the 63rd minute when the Huskies scored the equalizer. Chrissy Hollan netted a free kick opportunity from the top of the 18-yard box that was just over the outstretched arms of keeper Olivia Webber.

The score remained tied through regulation, sending the match to overtime. Bloomsburg held the edge in the first 10-minute period as Allie Camp fired a dangerous shot towards Webber that she denied, saving the tie.

Millersville registered two shots in the second overtime with the Huskies only attempting one. The Marauder attempts were both fired wide of net and the game ended in a 1-1 tie.

For the match Millersville held a 12-10 edge in shots. Olivia Webber was spectacular in net for the Marauders, making seven saves.

Millersville now stands at 6-6-1 overall and 6-6-1 in PSAC play. The Black & Gold return home Saturday, when it hosts Lock Haven on Senior Day. The Marauders will honor their three seniors Megan Wilson, Kristin Lepley, and Kelsey Mattola prior to the match on Pucillo Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
