West Chester took 14 shots compared to the seven by the Black & Gold. Both teams were feeling each other out defensively for the first 28 minutes of action. At the 29:23 mark Tommy Ryan carried the ball from about 35 yards out from the ride side of the box across to the left side. The senior then shot left footed across goalkeeper
Kohl Orner's face and into the back of the net for his seventh career goal. The score remained 1-0 through halftime.
Â
In the second half, physicality picked up between the two PSAC conference foes. The teams racked up a combined four yellow cards. Tommy Ryan was able to add an insurance effort in the 83rd minute.
Â
The Marauders had opportunities, the best occurring late in the second when
Jaime Vazquez attempted a free kick from just outside the box. The junior midfielder chipped the ball brilliantly, but it sailed just inches high of the crossbar. Vazquez finished the contest with two shots on goal.
