Millersville Pa. - The Millersville men's soccer team shut out conference foe East Stroudsburg 2-0 Tuesday evening at Pucillo Field. Redshirt junior
Kohl Orner kept his second straight clean sheet for the Marauders as they improved to 4-8-1 overall and 3-3 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action. The loss dropped ESU to 4-8-1 and 2-4 in the PSAC.

The contest ended up being a chirpy affair with a combined five yellow cards issued and a red was given against East Stroudsburg late in the second half. Millersville dominated possession throughout the evening as it was able to fire 21 shots compared to the Warriors 10. The Marauders were efficient in their shot attempts, keeping East Stroudsburg goalkeeper Adam Alton on his toes while forcing him to make several challenging saves. Alton finished the contest recording a career-high eight saves.

Junior midfielder
Jaime Vazquez looked to be in his best form of the year as he contributed both a goal and assist in the pivotal PSAC matchup.

Scoring got underway in the fifth minute when
Christopher Sosa netted his third goal of the season. Sosa was the beneficiary of a magnificent no-look pass by Vazquez that left the sophomore midfielder one-on-one with the goalkeeper. He was able to convert, firing the shot into the wide-open corner of the net.

Vazquez added a goal of his own in the 36th minute when he collected a Jonathan Dadaboe rebound inside the Warrior penalty box and shot it past Alton. The goal was the Bernville, Pa. native's sixth of the season and the 19th of his prolific career. Vazquez now ranks eighth in the PSAC in points (14) and fifth in goals (6).Â

The shutout marked the second consecutive for the Marauders, who seem to be firing on all cylinders in the heart of its schedule. Millersville looks to stay hot this weekend when it travels to West Chester. The Rams (6-5, 4-2 PSAC) currently sit fourth in the PSAC, three spots ahead of the Marauders, giving the game serious playoff implications Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at Rockwell Field in West Chester.
