Ashley Henderson scored five goals and powered the Millersville women's lacrosse team to an 11-7 victory in the Marauders' first road game of 2013. With the win Millersville moves to 3-0 on the season for the first time since 1995.
The Marauders (3-0) used efficient scoring and a seven goal scoring streak in the second half to run away from Georgian Court on Wednesday afternoon. Henderson's five goals tied a career high for the senior attacker as she scored on every shot she took. PSAC Player of the Week
Brooke Fisher added two goals, while sophomore
Hannah Vogel tallied a hat trick for the Black and Gold.
Georgian Court (0-2-1) received two goals from Melissa Williams, Corinne Coyle, and Molly McCourt. Goalkeeper Amanda Cathcart recorded four saves in the loss for the Lions.
Millersville limited Georgian Court to just two goals in the first half. It was the second time this year that the Marauders held their opponents to two or fewer goals in the first period. Henderson and Fisher each scored a pair of goals in the opening period for Millersville as the Marauders went into the break with a 4-2 lead.
The Lions started the second half strong as they scored three straight goals to take a 5-4 lead with 22 minutes left to play.

Mia Hall was able to rally her troops and Millersville went on a 7-0 run over the next 14 minutes to take a commanding 11-5 lead with around four minutes remaining. Henderson and Vogel each recorded a hat trick during the stretch to help record the Marauders second longest scoring streak on the young season.
Millersville turned out a its best performance in the turnover categories against the Lions. The Marauders committed a season low 11 turnovers and caused a season high 11 turnovers by Georgian Court.
The Marauders next game is at home as they host Seton Hill on Saturday, March 16 at 1:00 p.m. Millersville has not started the season 4-0 since the 1995 squad was able to win its first five games of the year.
