Kutztown, Pa. – Millersville and Kutztown entered Thursday's game with a four and five-game losing streak respectively. The Golden Bears made a late charge to come within a goal of the Marauders with three minutes remaining but an insurance goal in the final minutes secured Millersville the victory by a score of 11-9.
Millersville (5-6, 2-4 PSAC) took its largest lead of four goals for the second time in the contest by a score of 10-6 with 8:28 remaining in regulation when
Brooke Fisher scored her second goal of the game and the half.
Kutztown (3-8, 0-6 PSAC) then made a late run with three-straight goals to cut Millersville's lead to 10-9 with 2:58 remaining. Jillian Spencer scored less than a minute after Fisher pushed the Marauders' lead to four to make it 10-7. Krystine Beodeker followed to cut the lead to two before Spencer added her second goal of the half to make it a one-goal game.

Ashley Henderson gave the Marauders some breathing room with her second goal of the half for an 11-9 lead with 1:48 remaining. Henderson opened the second half with a goal to give Millersville a 6-4 lead.
The Marauders shut down the Golden Bears in the final two minutes causing two turnovers to end their four-game losing streak and improve to 5-6 on the season.
Caitlin Shannon led Millersville with three goals, including two of the first three goals of the game. Millersville took a 3-0 lead in the first six minutes of regulation before pushing its lead to 5-1 with Shannon scoring the hat trick just 7:33 into the contest.
Fisher finished with a game-high four points on two goals and two assists. Fisher scored the game-winning goal to give Millersville a 10-6 lead.
Kutztown, despite the loss, held a 22-18 advantage in shots and a 13-9 advantage in draw controls.
Millersville travels to East Stroudsburg on Wednesday, April 11 to take on the Warriors at 4 p.m.
