Marauders Post 18 Season-Best Results at Day Two of Bison Classic

Lewisburg, Pa. – The Millersville men and women's track and field teams wrapped up the Bison Classic at Bucknell University Sunday, and while the team only had two new PSAC qualifiers, eighteen Marauders set personal season-best times.
Each team had one new PSAC Championship qualifier, as Becky Novak collected a spot for the women in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:06.46 and Ryan Griffith claimed a spot at the Championships with a 15.67-second finish in the 110-meter hurdles.
Sixteen other Marauders set personal season-best times on the day. In the triple jump, two members of the women's team, Whitney Savoy (10.71 meters) and Jess Fritsche (10.35 meters) set season bests. In the 800-meter run, Megan Meyer set a season-best time with her finish of 2:18.98 for the women and Kevin DiFlorio clocked his best time of the season for the men with a time of 1:56.22.
Six total runners registered their best times of the season, with four coming from the women's team and two coming from the men's side. Abby Schneider sprinted to the best time of the season by any Millersville woman runner with a 12.51-second time. Following up Schneider with their best times of the season were Erin Mason (12.78), Katherine Lennex (12.92) and Mattie Conaboy (13.14). For the men, Andrew Langston (11.33) and Anthony Adamski (11.44) clocked season-best times.
The 200-meter dash saw four more season-best times for members of the women's team and one more for the men. Schneider again set a team-best time with her finish of 25.89 seconds. After Schneider, the other three women runners that sprinted to season-best times were Mason (25.91), Conaboy (26.98) and Mercedes Ortiz (27.15). For the men, the only runner who had a season-best time was Adamski, who clocked in at 22.88 seconds.
Two women's relay teams also set season-best times in their respective events. The 4x100-meter relay team finished 7th in 49.45 seconds and the 4x400-meter relay came in 10th with a 4:05.20 time.
Next weekend, some members of the team will take part in the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif. The following weekend, the team will be at the Penn Relays at the University of Pennsylvania from April 26-28.
