Edinboro, Pa. – The Millersville women's lacrosse team dropped its third-straight game and second in as many days on Saturday at Edinboro by a score of 10-6.

Millersville (4-5, 1-3 PSAC) opened with the games' first two goals for the second time in back-to-back games after doing so at Slippery Rock on Friday. Caitlin Shannon earned a free position shot three minutes in and put it past the Edinboro goalkeeper to give the Marauders a 1-0 lead.

Sophomore Becky Donkin extended Millersville's lead to 2-0 seven minutes later with her 11th goal of the season.

The Fighting Scots (5-4, 1-3 PSAC) finally got on the board with 14:37 remaining in the first half on an unassisted goal by Kaitlin Magee. Magee earned a free position shot just 29 seconds later and knotted the game at 2-2 with her second goal of the game.

Edinboro added a goal by Rebecca Zajac with 6:45 on the clock to give the Fighting Scots a 3-2 lead heading into the break.

Shannon scored a team-leading 24th goal of the season, second of the game, just 40 seconds into the second half to tie the game at 3-3. Then Donkin followed with her second goal of the afternoon to give Millersville the lead back at 4-3.

The Fighting Scots quickly score two goals over the next 50 seconds to regain the lead at 5-4. Edinboro scored five more goals in the final 27 minutes for seven unanswered and a 10-4 lead with 1:31 left in regulation. Dominique Young scored four-straight goals, including the Fighting Scots' fifth goal to regain the lead 5-4, over the seven-goal stretch.

Junior Ashley Henderson netted her 24th and 25th goals of the season in the last 1:13 of the game to bring Millersville within 10-6 of Edinboro, but it was not enough as the Marauders fell for the three-straight time.

Millersville returns home on Tuesday, April 3 when it hosts the No. 9 West Chester Golden Rams. The Marauders and Golden Rams will play in the annual “Lax-4-Life” game to raise awareness and funding for adolescent suicide prevention.
