Slippery Rock, Pa. – Millersville scored five unanswered goals in the final three minutes of regulation but the clock expired to cut short the late rally Friday at Slippery Rock. The Marauders fell by an 18-15 final score. It was their second-straight loss.
Slippery Rock (4-3, 1-3 PSAC) took its largest lead at 18-10 after scoring five consecutive goals with six minutes remaining in regulation.
Millersville (4-4, 1-2 PSAC) cut The Rock's lead to 18-11 when junior
Ashley Henderson scored her conference-leading 23rd goal of the season--second of the game--with 2:47 left in the contest.

Caitlin Shannon followed with her team-leading fifth goal of the game and 22nd of the season to bring the Marauders within six of Slippery Rock. Just 12 more seconds ticked off the clock before
Karen Illuminati netted her first goal of the contest to make the score 18-13 in favor of The Rock.
With less than a minute remaining
Kathryn Kehring scored her 15
th goal of year the year to bring Millersville within four. Illuminati then scored her second of the game on a free position shot with 10 seconds remaining and the Marauders still trailing by three goals.
Slippery Rock won the final draw control and ran out the clock for its fourth win of the season by a score of 18-15. The Rock's goalkeeper Natalie Crenshaw only registered four saves, while Millersville's
Lauren Mateja stopped 10 shots on goal.
Sophomore
Becky Donkin opened the game with back-to-back goals to give the Marauders a 2-0 early lead. But Slippery Rock responded with three-straight goals of its own to take a 3-2 advantage.
The teams exchanged goals three times before The Rock closed out the first half with four-straight goals to take a 10-7 halftime lead. Amy Halls scored five goals and added an assist in the first half for The Rock. Hall finished with a game-high nine points on seven goals and two assists.
Shannon collected five goals for the second time this season to lead Millersville in scoring.
