Millersville, Pa. – On Tuesday, April 3 the Millersville women's lacrosse team will host West Chester in the annual “Lax-4-Life” game. The Marauders and Golden Rams efforts are to raise awareness and funding for adolescent suicide prevention.
“Lax-4-Life” was born in the spring of 2009 after the development of the Allyson Rose Green Memorial Fund (
www.allysonsfund.org). The fund was founded in 2008 after Allyson Green, sister of former West Chester goalkeeper Mary Beth Green, committed suicide.
The awareness game began witht 10 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) institutions in participation in 2009 and has grown to the involvement of 63 institutions across Division I, II and III. “Lax-4-Life” was also joined by three northeast U.S. high schools.
The team will be collecting donations at the game at a table set up inside Chryst Field at Biemsderfer Stadium. For more information on all “Lax-4-Life” events visitt
