Millersville, Pa. - 27 seconds into Wednesday's dual, it looked like Millersville would earn its second win of the year. Visiting VMI rallied, however, winning six of the nine contested matches to knock off the Marauders 24-13.

The 133-pound Josh Ruppert wasted little time getting the Marauders on the board. Just 27 seconds into his match with Joe Jarrells, he scored his sixth pin of the season.

VMI (5-7) won the next three matches. 165-pound Brandon Vernalli halted the run and gave Millersville its ninth point with an 11-2 major decision over Jonathan Jones. Jones scored his only points of the bout late in the third period to make the score 8-2. Just before the clock expired, Vernalli managed a reversal, and his one point of riding time gave him the bonus points Millersville needed. Vernalli improved to 13-8 on the season and his four major decisions are a team high.

Millersville's only other win, however, came from heavyweight Brad Ladd, who earned a 10-3 decision in a spirited match with Juan Adams. It was Ladd's 12th win of the season.

Millersville hosts four teams for the Mid Penn Duals on Saturday. There will be two mats of action, and it starts at 10 a.m.
