
Thomas has Career Day in First-Place Finish at Mountain Hawk Heptathlon

Bethlehem, Pa. – Redshirt senior Brendon Thomas, who missed last season due to injury, set a personal record, a school record and produced a NCAA provisional qualifier on his way to a first-place finish at the Mountain Hawk heptathlon at Lehigh University this afternoon.
In the two-day event, Thomas started off placing in the top four in each of the four events on day one. It was the second event of the evening when Thomas set a personal record. He took first place in the long jump reaching a distance of 22-1.35 breaking his previous best of 21-4. At the conclusion of day one he was in the lead with a total of 2,649 points, leading by 59 points.
After the final three events, Thomas wrapped up first place with 4,690 total points, earning a NCAA provisional qualifying mark. His total topped his previous best of 4,463 total points, which also set the Millersville indoor heptathlon record.
Also competing for the Marauders was junior Zac Kohler, who finished sixth with 4,305 total points. Kohler was in sixth place at the end of day one. He took second in the high jump and third in the 1,000-meter run, running a time of 2:58.59.
The Millersville men's and women's track and field teams are also competing at the Princeton Relays today.
