Box Score

Millersville, Pa. – Michelle Mangiaruga and Molly O'Hara teamed up to produce nine goals and lead East Stroudsburg past Millersville in women's lacrosse action Thursday. The Marauders dropped their home opener by a 16-9 margin and fell to 1-4, 0-3 PSAC East on the year.

The two squads exchanged goals for the first 20 minutes of play. Katie DiRico scored two of Millersville's first five goals to put the squad on top of the Warriors 5-3 with nine minutes remaining in the first half.

East Stroudsburg responded, going on a three-goal run to take the lead. Mangiaruga tallied two of her three first-half goals in the sequence for the Warriors. Brittney Long found the back of the net for the Marauders for the first time in just over nine minutes as the teams went into halftime with a 7-6 East Stroudsburg edge.

Liz Weekley notched the first goal of the second period off of a free position shot at 28:53 to tie the game for the final time. The Warriors answered again with three goals, two of which came from O'Hara, to take an 11-7 lead.

It was Weekley again who got past goalkeeper Amanda Simms halfway through the period, but East Stroudsburg's offensive efforts proved too much. The Warriors tallied five more goals in the half which Millersville could not contest. Weekley found the back of the net for the final time with two seconds remaining in regulation, but the Marauders found themselves in too deep of a hole.

Weekley led the Marauders with four goals, scoring on four of her six shots. DiRico totaled two goals while Long, Brianna Huynh and Mary Houtmann added one goal apiece.
