Greck, Smith and Hostetter Earn Wins in Dual Loss to Lock Haven

Lock Haven, Pa. - Despite victories from Mike Greck, Shane Smith and Jarrett Hostetter, the Millersville wrestling team fell to Lock Haven 39-6 Wednesday evening.

Lock Haven (1-3) captured its first dual win of the season, taking seven of the 10 bouts and winning four by fall, one by technical fall and one by major decision. Millersville's three wins all came by decision, and the Marauders dropped to 0-2-1 with the loss.

Millersville's first win came from Greck at 141 pounds. The junior controlled the bout, surrendering just one point to Nikkien Faunteleroy and added 1:02 in riding time for a 4-1 victory.

Hostetter, which earned the nation's No. 20 ranking Tuesday afternoon, solidified his standing among the nation's best and helped the Marauders close the gap to 15-6 with his 6-1 decision over Seth Creasy at 157 pounds. He improved to 12-4 on the season with the record and extended his winning streak to six.

While the Marauders trailed by just nine, a Lock Haven pin at 165 put the match further out of reach. Smith boosted his season mark to 9-4 with an 8-3 decision over Derek Caldwell.

The Marauders will look for their first dual victory on Friday at the Virginia Duals. Millersville takes on SUNY-Brockport in the first round at 9 a.m. Fans can follow the action and watch live coverage at themat.com.
