Marauders Take Three First Place Finishes in WCU Track and Field Invitational

April 14 – The Millersville University men's and women's track and field teams posted three first-place finishes at the West Chester University Collegiate Invitational held over the weekend.
Lindsay Clark (jr. Kennard-Dale HS) recorded her second first-place finish in the javelin this year with a throw of 35.98 meters.
Matt Simkins (fr. Emmaus HS) beat 28 other competitors to take first place in the men's 1500-meter run. Simkins completed the race 4:15.41.
The women's 4x100 relay team of Maggie Majika (fr. Schulykill Valley HS), Krysty Geesey (so. Dover Area HS), Stacey Bernetski (jr. Minersville HS) and Brittany Yanora (so. Elmer L. Meyers HS) won first place with a time of 51 seconds.
Yanora also finished second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.27 seconds, good enough to earn her a berth in the PSAC meet. She also qualified in the 200-meter race.
Bernetski also placed second in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.57 seconds.
The women's 4x400 relay team of Majka, Bernetski, Yanora and Emily Francisco (fr. Bangor Area HS) placed second with a time of 4:13.23.
Derek Bass (so. York Suburban HS) qualified for the PSAC meet in the 100-meter race with his time of 11.16. He finished eighth.
