Lacrosse or field hockey, two-sport star Kimberly Davis was at home between the pipes. A four-year starter in goal for Barb Waltman's lacrosse team, Davis was the rock of three-straight PSAC Championship teams from 1988-1990.

She was already an All-PSAC honoree in lacrosse when in the fall of 1989, she stepped into the field hockey cage, taking over for Millersville Hall of Fame member Stacey Hollinger. She needed no time to adjust, setting a school record for saves in a season and posted a 12-6-2 record. She was an All-PSAC East Second Team and All-America Honorable Mention.

But it was in lacrosse that Davis left a lasting legacy. Over four seasons of frustrating opponents, Davis set school records for wins in a season (13), winning percentage (.929) and goals against average (6.6). Those records stand to this day, and her saves percentage record stood for four seasons. As a senior in 1990, Davis led the team to its third consecutive PSAC Championship by denying Lock Haven in the title game, 5-4. Voted the team's MVP, Davis was an All-PSAC First Team and All-America First Team pick that season.

She closed her career with records for wins (44) and goals against average (9.0). Davis accomplished it all despite being almost legally deaf.

After her graduation in 1990 with a bachelor's degree in art, Davis became a teacher and coach. As a teacher at her alma mater William Penn High School in Wilmington, Del., Davis was named the Delaware Art Educators Association Educator of the Year in 2012 and was nationally recognized through the Power of Art Foundation. She was also a Howard Pyle DAEA Teacher of the Year award winner. As a volunteer assistant field hockey coach working with defense and goalies numerous players have gone on to earn scholarships at the collegiate level.
