Complete Game Notes (.PDF)GAME OVERVIEW• Millersville has won four consecutive games for the firs t time since early in the 2012-13 campaign and has its record above .500 for the first time this season. The Marauders have won six times in the last eight games with the two losses coming by a combined total of 11 points. One key to the recent run has been that six of those games were played in Pucillo Gymnasium, where the Marauders went 5-1 and are 8-2 this season. Compared to the first 11 games, Millersville has improved its field goal percentage from .386 to .399, its 3-point shooting from .304 to .329 and its free throw shooting from .721 to .788. Millersville has scored nearly nine points per game more over the last eight games and are allowing five fewer points per game. Rebounding has also improved as the Marauders' rebounding numbers have jumped from 32.3 to 39.2.
• Individually,
Kelvin Parker is averaging 19.8 points on 50.4 percent shooting from the field after averaging 13.7 on 36.4 percent shooting in his first 11 games.
Sam Light's scoring average is 13.5 on 46 percent shooting over the last eight compared to 9.7 points on 27.3 percent shooting in the first 11. Light and Parker have combined to sink 56 of their 60 free throws over the last eight.
• Another difference to Millersville's lineup is
Tavon Parker. Tavon is averaging 9.4 points and 4.8 rebounds per game, but his impact on the defensive end is noticeable. Drawing Adam Blazek of Gannon and Wali Hepburn of Lock Haven has his top assignment, he held both players to six points below their scoring average. With Tavon in the lineup, Millersville has held teams to 39.1 percent shooting while the team allowed 44.5 percent before Tavon's arrival. Over the last two seasons, when Tavon and Kelvin are in the lineup together, the Marauders are 8-3. Tavon owns a plus/minus rating of +4.25 per game--best among players with more than 60 minutes played. Teams are scoring 1.7 points per minute with him on the floor. That is tops on the team.
•
Anthony Moe may be averaging only 12.5 minutes per game, but he is averaging 7.8 points, 6.8 rebounds and two blocks per game. He is coming off of his first career double-double effort with 16 points and 11 boards against Wilmington. His prorated 40 minute averages are staggering: 24.8 points, 21.6 rebounds, 6.4 blocks (but also 13.3 fouls). When he is in the game, he grabs 37 percent of the possible defensive rebounds and 29.2 percent of all rebounds. Moe's plus/minus of +5.50 per game is best on the team. In 53:10 of playing time, the Marauders have outscored their opponents 100-78.
