Millersville

Steve Goris

2014 marked Goris' fifth season on the Millersville volleyball coaching staff and first as a volunteer assistant. He was instrumental in Millersville's success all season including its sweep of West Chester on Sept. 26 and its sweep of Shippensburg on Oct. 28. The Marauders hadn't defeated the Golden Rams in straight sets since 2005 and hadn't done so against the Raiders since 2002.

Steve Goris joined the Millersville volleyball staff as an assistant coach prior to the 2010 season, and has been instrumental in helping head coach Brian Smith lead the Marauders to back-to-back appearances in the PSAC Tournament in 2012 and 2013 and the team's first .500 (18-18) season since 2004 in 2011. Millersville hadn't made consecutive appearances in the conference tournament since the 2004-05 seasons.

Goris attended the University of Toledo where he was a member of the men’s volleyball team. While playing for the Rockets as a libero and defensive specialist, Goris was a two-time recipient of the Coaches Award. After college, Goris played for United States Volleyball (USAV) from 2000-09.

He coached club volleyball at the Great Lakes Quick Silver Club from 2002-09, coaching the 15-U level for one year and at the 18-U level for two years. After relocating to Lancaster in 2009, Goris continued his coaching as the LAVA 15-U Boys, 15-U Gold Girls assistant coach and U 15 Gold Girls head coach. Goris also serves as the co-director of the LAVA volleyball club. He is currently in his first year as the Lancaster Mennonite High School girls varsity coach. Over the years, Goris has coached players that have moved on to play at the collegiate level at numerous schools, including Slippery Rock University, Wooster College, Kenyon College, Thiel College, and Mt. Union College.

Currently Goris lives in Lancaster and is engaged to Michelle Hefferman.
